10 Ways to Turn Your Camp into Glamp

Maybe you’re new to this whole camping thing. Maybe you’re an old time pro. Either way, adding just a few simple luxuries to your packing list can turn your trip from camp into glamp. Ever since we have been heading out to enjoy the outdoors on a regular basis, we’ve come to LOVE these little additions and they’ve quickly become part of our regular packing list. The Glamp Queens have tons of tips for packing but these are just a few things that’ll really help add that little bit of comfort to your camping excursion.

1. French Press
Just say no to instant coffee. There is no place for instant coffee when camping with the Glamp Queens. Bringing along a French press can be a quick and classy way to make your coffee in the morning. If you’re packing a camp stove, a percolator is another great option for prepping your coffee.

2. Hanging Shoe Bag for Kitchen Storage
Strange enough to say, this is one of our favorite glamping hacks because it’s so simple and provides a lot of storage and organization for your kitchen area. It can get messy when cooking outdoors and hanging up a shoe bag to store all your utensils, spices, canned goods, etc. can help keep things simple and organized.

3. Cutting Board & Knife
But we’re not talking about the cheap flimsy little dollar store knives. We’re talking about a real kitchen knife (preferably with a cover for the blade) and bamboo/wood cutting board. In most cases, you’ll only really need one good knife to cook with while camping and you can even keep the cutting board to whatever size you prefer. But having these two additions to your camp kitchen can really improve the experience of cooking in the outdoors.

4. Fairy Lights
Why light your campsite with those bright LED lanterns when you can have dreamy fairy lights. It’s important to have some sort of lighting around the campground for practical reasons but choosing to string up fairy lights instead can make for a much more relaxing environment for your fellow glampers.

5. Floor Mat / Rug
We’ve all been there when it’s time to pack up camp and you’re desperately trying to sweep out the tent from all the sand and dirt that has compiled. It can get a little messy inside the tent pretty quickly when camping which can result in sand or dirt getting into your sleeping bag or clothes. No thank you! But having a floor mat or rug in your tent can help trap what you track in from outside and avoid it from getting into your sleeping area. A welcome mat outside your tent can also be a nice touch.

6. Rainbow Citronella Candle
Especially when camping during the summer time, it’s key to make sure you have some sort of repellent for mosquitoes. While bug spray is always part of our packing list, having a citronella candle or other natural bug repellents handy can help keep your campsite free from bites and stings. There are lots of all natural bug repellents, some of which you can add to your campfire! Coleman’s Color Changing Citronella Candle is our all time favorite, because . . . rainbows.

7. Wet Wipes
Just bring them. They have so many uses from washing your face after a day in the sun to helping to clean scratches and wounds. We also like to keep ours in the ice chest to keep them cool so they’re extra refreshing after a hot day.

8. An Extra Pillow
Having an additional pillow can be great for adding the extra support you need while sleeping. If you’re someone who enjoys the additional comfort of sleeping with a lot of pillows, even a small compact camping pillow can go a long way. Also, you can help your fellow Glamp Queen should she forget to pack her pillow.

9. Metal Wine Glasses
Maybe you’re a box wine girl, maybe you’re a two buck chuck kind of guy, or maybe you like an actual fancy wine worth more than $8. We love bringing along a bottle of our favorite wine to enjoy around the campfire. Packing a pair of metal wine glasses can be a classy step up from a red solo cup. It can also help avoid breaking rules against glass that many campsites enforce.

10. Car Freshener
Sure, you’re in the great outdoors. The smells of nature all around you! However, if you’re like us and are using a tent that has seen a few years on it, sometimes it can start to have a funny smell inside. This may be from sitting rolled up inside it’s bag in the garage during the heat of summer or maybe a little moisture was accidentally left on it when you packed it away. Either way, tents sometimes start to smell and unzipping the windows to air it out isn’t always enough. To help with this, we love bringing along some extra car fresheners to hang inside our tent.
